January 3 — Band videos, consistency bears results, the .ai domain, and the balance bike kid returns

My name is Eric Knaus and here are 3 quick updates of what I have been up to this past week, and a bonus at the end. If you’d like to receive this update on Wednesdays, you can sign up at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!

As requested: videos of the band playing

When I was recruited for band practice, I didn’t know what to expect, so I kept expectations low. Then I found out the event we were playing was a private 70th birthday party for the town’s fire chief. Catered, open bar, lobster rolls, prosciutto, the whole 9. It was fun!

My sister took some videos of us. There have been quite a few requests for videos, so please enjoy Jib.Sea.Sol!

Just show up

Someday I will be stronger than I am today but today I am stronger than I was one year ago because I just kept showing up. There were days I didn’t want to go train jiu jitsu. There were days I wanted to sleep in. There were times I wanted to skip gym day and just take it easy instead. But I just kept showing up, not to prove anything but just to tick another box in the journey of progress. And that has made me a lot stronger today.

Anguilla and the .ai domain names

The British Caribbean country Anguilla is the owner of the .AI domain ending, popular with all the latest developments in generative AI. Selling this domain ending alone has become a massive contributor to their national GDP.

Bonus: The balance bike kid is back!

Check out this action packed 2023 compilation of Elliot, the fearless 4 year old on a balance bike.
